Longoria Wins 5th WPRO Stop In A Row
#1 Ranked Paola Longoria is on fire right now as she captured her fifth consecutive Tier 1 WPRO Stop this past weekend at the In-Shape WPRO Championships hosted by the In-Shape Sport: West Lane in Stockton, CA. Her victory did not come easy as fellow Team Ektelon Professional Rhonda Rajsich battled to the end, falling to Paola in a tough five game final. Paola and Rhonda continue to show all of racquetball that their rivalry is truly the best in the sport. The WPRO show continues in two weeks at the Elmwood Fitness Center in New Orleans for the WPRO Ektelon World Championships.
The In-Shape WPRO Championships also featured more professional play with the Women’s Pro Doubles and Mixed Pro Doubles. Team Ektelon’s Aimee Ruiz continued to dominate the doubles game with victories in both divisions, teaming up with fellow Team Ektelon player and Tournament Director John Ellis for the Mixed Pro victory. Rhonda showed her incredible stamina by playing all three divisions, finishing Runner Up in all three.
The men’s game was well represented by Team Ektelon players as Jose Rojas captured his home club title over fellow Stocktonian John Ellis. Jose then went on to win the Men’s Open Doubles as well. Look for Jose to contend for a National Championship in Houston this year!!!
Congratulations to all of the Team Ektelon players that took part the event, especially those players that made their division finals. Ektelon was the Presenting Sponsor of this event and have signed on as the “Official Ball & Racquet” of the In-Shape brand of clubs. The In-Shape WPRO Championships are guaranteed in Stockton through the 2012 season.
